Oppo’s Indian company evaded tax of Rs 4,389 crore: Directorate of Revenue Investigation finds..!!

Beijing: The Directorate of Revenue Investigation has found that Oppo’s Indian subsidiary has evaded Rs 4,389 crore in taxes. The Directorate of Revenue Investigation has found that Oppo India, a subsidiary of China’s Guangdong Oppo Mobile Telecom Corporation, has evaded Rs 4,389 crore in customs duties. Oppo India is involved in manufacturing, designing, wholesaling, distribution of handsets and spare parts across India. Oppo India has tied up with various mobile phone companies including OnePlus and Realme.

Meanwhile, the Oppo India office and the homes of its key executives were raided by the Revenue Intelligence. It was found that Oppo India had wrongly specified the prices of some of the imported materials for manufacturing the handsets. It has also been found that Oppo India has got a tax exemption of Rs 4,389 crore through this. Senior management personnel and local distributors were interrogated and admitted that they had given false information to the customs authorities during importation.
