In this eight-player tournament (all-play-all) each player faces 7 other players once. Players are awarded $7,500 for each tournament win. Also, $100,000 worth of Bitcoin is awarded as a bonus at the end of the tournament.
In this case, Tamil Nadu player Pragnananda defeated the world champion Carlson in the 7th round of the FTX crypto chess tournament series. With the match tied at 2-2, Pragnananda stunned Carlson in the tie breaker. However, Magnus Carlsen was declared the winner of the series on points. Pragnananda came second.
