Worker survives 9 days in 620 feet tunnel by eating coffee powder

Seoul: 2 workers trapped in a 620 feet deep mine in South Korea survived by eating coffee powder for 9 days. A landslide occurred on the 26th of last month in a zinc mine in Bonghwa, South Korea. In this, a large number of laborers who were involved in digging the mine were killed. The accident took place at a height of 620 feet. However, some of the workers managed to escape by hiding in the gaps between the rubble.

Rescue operations continued to rescue them. Of these, 2 people were rescued last Friday after 9 days. They were trapped between steep cliffs at a depth of 620 feet. For the past 9 days, they have been surviving on the instant coffee powder they had and drinking water drop by drop.

Doctors said that the condition of the 2 people admitted to the hospital is now stable. ‘It is a miracle that they survived,’ said South Korean President Yan Suk-yeol.
