WhatsApp New Update: People can send 2GB files on WhatsApp

According to a recent report, WhatsApp will soon allow users to share up to 2GB of media files. WhatsApp seems to be testing 2GB capability for file transfer between users. The file-sharing capability has become a key feature of the WhatsApp service. WhatsApp has also included the ability to share media files within Chats since 2017. But its file size limit of 100MB remains unchanged, causing long-standing dissatisfaction among users.

Users are happy to report that WhatsApp will soon be able to share only 100MB of media files. While it is true that file-sharing capability is currently being tested, some experts are skeptical that this is a temporary localized test or a start to introducing this feature to international users.

WhatsApp New Update

This is because according to a report by WhatsApp development tracker WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is currently testing this feature in Argentina. Screenshot of a new feature shared by WABetaInfo. WhatsApp’s pop-up notification says “You can send up to 2GB of media files”.

The fifth feature is only available to a limited number of beta testers in Argentina. So experts say it is not yet confirmed whether WhatsApp plans to offer the same feature to many in the future. This is a much-needed feature for the users as the cameras of the smartphones are better and the data speed is available.
