Protect Gotabaya's return to the country as per the Constitution
In this case, the Sri Lankan Human Rights Commission has urged President Ranil Wickremesinghe to provide adequate protection to the family of ex-President Gotabaya Rajapaksa who is returning to the country as per the guarantee given by the Constitution. Meanwhile, three students namely Mudalike Vasantha Kumara, Hashan Jeevanta and Buddhist Bhikku Kalveva Sirithamma of the All University Students Union have been arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act for coordinating the protest against the government.

It’s like being in prison
Gothapaya, who is staying at a hotel in the Thai capital Bangkok, has been ordered by the police not to leave the room as there is a threat to her life. Due to this, he is paralyzed in the hotel room and said, ‘He could not even go to his own country. Couldn’t even leave the room. It’s like being in jail,’ he laments.
