Announcement by the Minister of 5G Services and Telecom in India in the next 2 months

Union Telecommunications Minister Aswini Vaishnav has said that 5G will be launched in India in August-September and the target is to roll out 5G services in 20 to 25 cities by the end of this year.

4G service was launched in India in 2012. Since then the number of internet users has started to increase. Since the introduction of affordable internet programs by Geo, the number of internet users has skyrocketed. The number of broadband users has increased from 10 crores in 2014 to 80 crores now.

In this context, efforts are being made to launch a high-speed internet facility called 5G in India following the 4G service. Meanwhile, bidding for the ‘5G spectrum’ is in full swing. The 5G service will be launched locally in August-September. The target is to launch the service in 20 to 25 cities by the end of the year, ”said Union Telecommunications Minister Aswini Vaishnav while addressing an event.

He said the price of data service in India is currently very low compared to international rates, adding that while the international average for data service is $ 25, in India it is just $ 2. India is promoting 4G and 5G services. He also said that steps have been taken to strengthen the credibility of digital networks worldwide.

He went on to say that there is a clear consensus among the public that social media sites need to act more responsibly. In order to do so, there is a need to change the legal provisions. He said the central government was committed to carrying out the work. Current estimates put the 5G service at 10 times faster than the 4G service.
