Linksys Velop mesh routers can sense movement inside houses; now, they include the ability to track the well-being of human inhabitants with the introduction of new Wellness Pods.
Engineered in partnership with AI firm Origin Wireless, Wellness Pods work together with Linksys Velop Tri-Band nodes and Linksys Aware software program to trace breathing patterns and sleep quality, in accordance with Linksys. They can be used to detect drops of elderly family members. It performs these activities without the use of wearables or cameras, which could solve some privacy issues.
Linksys is ready to detect motion by measuring disruptions in radio wave intensity between at least two Velop nodes brought on by a person or animal walking through a room.
Linksys Aware measures the community about 30 times a second; however, including a number of Wellness Pods to the network raises the sampling rate to 1,500 times per second.
That provides sufficient detail to detect even refined movements in a room like human respiration, based on the corporate.
Linksys isn’t offering an exact date or price for the Wellness Pods; however, it says they need to arrive sometimes later this year.
A subscription to Linksys Aware at present costs $2.99 per 30 days or $24.99 yearly.
